Aoba-Japan International School (A-JIS) Kanazawa will open its doors in August 2026, serving children from Kindergarten through Grade 10 on site, with an extension for Grade 11 and 12 possible through our Online DP campus. As part of the Aoba Group, our new school will extend a legacy of international education built on quality, innovation, and care for every learner.

BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE
AJIS Kanazawa will offer a full continuum of Kindergarten through to Grade 10 inquiry based learning on campus, plus Primary Years and extend to the Middle Years Programme through on-campus offerings, and the Online DP. The inaugural year will start with students from Kindergarten (3 years+) through to Grade 3.

STUDENT LIFE
From August 2026, AJIS Kanazawa will open as more than a school. It will be a place for children to discover who they are and how they connect with others. Our vision for student life is vibrant and diverse, blending academics with experiences that nurture wellbeing, creativity, and leadership.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Plans are underway to provide a rich mix of clubs, teams, and initiatives. From sport and the arts to innovation and service, students will have opportunities to explore passions and discover new interests, with particular emphasis on local arts, crafts, and traditions, in addition to the usual sports or other activities.

JOIN OUR FOUNDING COMMUNITY
Applications will open in advance of our first school year. Families who register their interest will receive priority updates, invitations to admissions events, and guidance on preparing for enrolment in our founding cohort.

Our first community information session introduced the school’s vision and development plans. Families joined us on-site to explore the future campus location, where Aoba’s leadership and planning meetings are shaping the details of the school opening.
